Installation + Warranty
Yes, we strongly recommend Sunshowers are installed only by a licensed plumber who uses a copper crimp tool (or weld tool if you're in the USA) to ensure that:
• your 12 month warranty period is not voided
• your installation is compliant with regulations and
• that you have peace of mind that your Sunshower will work as beautifully as it looks!
In Australia, installing an outdoor shower involves complying with plumbing and building regulations, which can vary by state and local council.
Wherever you live, we recommend you check with your local council and plumber for specific regulations and requirements related to outdoor showers in your area before purchasing and installing your outdoor shower.
Outdoor showers require careful drainage planning. Generally, hot water showers need to drain to the sewer system, while cold water showers might be permitted to drain to stormwater.
Wherever you are in the world, local council regulations vary, so it's crucial to check specific requirements regarding wastewater disposal and plumbing before installation.
Yes it does. Every complete Sunshower unit is water pressure tested and comes with a 12 month warranty from the date of purchase. This warranty covers the replacement of defective components, not the entire product unless a full replacement is deemed necessary by Sunshower at its sole discretion.
This warranty does not cover damage resulting from
• incorrect installation,
• improper use,
• inadequate cleaning, or neglect.
To maintain the validity of this warranty, Sunshowers must be installed by a licensed plumber. Failure to do so will void the warranty.
Please note that Sunshower does not warrant the finish of its showers. Variations and natural aging are to be expected unless you choose to use a protective sealant on your shower. Our copper showers will age and patina over time as part of their intended and beautiful aesthetic.
Refunds + exchanges
Yes you can, but please note our Refund Policy is 30 days. To be eligible, your Sunshower must be unused and in the same condition that you received it in. It must also be in the original packaging.
A 15% repolishing and repacking fee will be deducted from refunds due to change of mind and shipping costs are non-refundable.

Exchanges must be approved by our team before you send them back. Any goods received without prior authorization will be held for collection or can be returned to you at your expense.
Once your exchange is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received it. If approved, your exchange will be processed. If you are due a refund this will be processed to your original method of payment. Please note Shipping costs are non-refundable. If your exchanged item is of higher value, you will be sent an invoice which must be paid before your exchanged item will be dispatched.
Yes, you are responsible for paying for your own shipping costs to return or exchange your Sunshower. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
We highly recommend you pay for a 'Signature on Delivery' service as we cannot guarantee that we will receive your returned item, otherwise.
We want you to be 100% happy with your Sunshower and will replace items if they are defective or if they are damaged in transit. For damaged items in transit please advise us by email to sales@sunshower.co within 30 days to be eligible for a replacement.
Every Sunshower is carefully checked by our team and water pressure tested before its shipped out so its a very rare occurence, but if you do receive a defective item, please advise us by email to sales@sunshower.co as soon as you are aware of the issue so we can send you a replacement part or shower as soon as possible.
Care + Maintenance
For the aged/patina look
If you love the look of copper as it patinas over time, there's a couple of things you can do to allow the natural patina formation:
- Avoid using abrasive cleaners or acidic solutions, as they can damage the copper's natural patina or finish.
- Clean your shower with a mild soap and soft cloth to preserve the patina
For the shiny, polished copper look:
If you prefer to retain the shiny polished finish of your
Sunshower, that's absolutely possible with a little regular TLC. It's important to note that maintaining the polished appearance of copper in an outdoor setting needs that ongoing attention and
regular upkeep to preserve that finish. Here's what we recommend you do:
- Seal or wax it: Apply a high-quality protective sealant or wax to your thoroughly cleaned and dried Sunshower. This creates a barrier that helps slow the oxidation process and maintain the metal's shine by safeguarding the copper against moisture and environmental exposure. Be sure to check and follow the manufacturer's application instructions.
- Routine Cleaning: Clean the copper surfaces regularly using a mild detergent or for a more natural method, use a solution of vinegar and water. Gently scrub the surface to remove dirt and inhibit the formation of oxidation. Avoid abrasive cleaning agents, as they can scratch and damage the finish.
- Polish with a Commercial Copper Cleaner: Use a copper cleaner specifically formulated to eliminate tarnish and oxidation. Apply the product in accordance with its directions, and gently polish the surface to restore its original brilliance.
- Alternatively, use a Homemade Cleaning Paste: A natural and effective cleaning solution can be made using lemon juice and salt! Combine the two to form a paste, apply it to the copper surface, scrub gently, and rinse thoroughly. This method can effectively remove tarnish and revive the copper’s sheen.
Ultimately, the decision to preserve the original shine or embrace the natural patina is a matter of personal aesthetic preference - both approaches offer distinctive and appealing characteristics that enhance the visual charm of outdoor spaces.
For powder-coated finishes
If you’ve chosen a powder-coated finish, the premium
AkzoNobel Interpon coating makes it suitable even for coastal environments. While powder-coating is a durable finish, it
is not impervious to the effects of weather, wear and tear, and environmental
conditions. So regular cleaning and maintenance will help extend the life of
the coating. Here's what to do:
- Rinse regularly: After use, rinse the shower with fresh water to remove salt, chlorine, and other contaminants that can speed up tarnishing or corrosion.
- Dry when possible: Wipe down the shower with a soft cloth to prevent mineral deposits and water spots, especially if you have hard water.
Part of the beauty of Sunshowers and why we love using copper for our outdoor showers is because of the way they age over time, with a beautiful patina. To learn more, head over to our Inspo blog where we've written about the changes in colour and finish that can occur.
